What is Bitcoin?
Bitcoin (BTC) is the first and most well-known cryptocurrency in the world. It was created in 2009 by a person (or group) under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. It works in a decentralized manner — without banks, without government control.
How does it work?
- Transactions are recorded in a public book called blockchain
- There is no “central bank” of Bitcoin
- There is a limit of 21 million bitcoins that can exist
- New units are created by “mining” (computers solving mathematical problems)
Bitcoin as an investment

How much to invest?
The general recommendation is: up to 5% of your assets in cryptocurrencies. Never invest money that you cannot afford to lose. Bitcoin is highly volatile.
